Magdalena Santos Maslog

Where it all began.

Magdalena Santos Maslog was my mother, who migrated from the Philippines in 1969  to the United States.  Since Magdalena was such a long name to pronounce, her family and friends called her Dely, which became her nickname.  My mother was known as Dely, the smiling, charismatic, and caring person to everyone she touched.

The first product we sold as father and daughter was the staple and famous lumpia, the Filipino spring roll.  This new venture of Paulito and Charlotte became known as Dely’s Lumpias.

I, Paulito Maslog, a Filipino American born in the District of Columbia, grew up in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.  As I was growing up in this beautiful country, I embraced both the American and Filipino cultures.  Like my family and many other immigrant families, food was always the key to sharing Filipino culture with family and friends.  The best way to share Filipino culture was to learn how to cook and share such great foods with your loved ones.

I wanted to share what I know is Filipino with my daughter Charlotte.  I want to share my knowledge of how to prepare and cook Filipino food with my daughter, who is both American Filipino and Peruvian.  As we continue to share the richness and beauty of the Filipino culture with you!!  Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy the food that my daughter and I made with love and happiness.
